Inquiry/Seeking Christ
The time of Inquiry or Period of Evangelization and Precatechumenate is the introductory time when people first approach the church with the desire to become part of it. The candidates for the catechumenate process come to ask questions and to learn what is expected of them as members of the church. The catechists and other team members get to know the candidates. This is the time before any of the rites take place. At this point the inquirers have just expressed an intention to become incorporated into the body of the church.
Seeking Christ - Inquiry is a process to help you explore the richness and beauty of the Catholic faith. It is part of the precatechumenate, the first period of the R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). This process allows an inquirer to explore some basic dimensions and themes of Catholicism. It invites a person to a time of reflection, discussion, and discovery before he or she decides to enter the catechumenate, which is the second part of the O.C.I.A. - if that's where God leads.
Each session has three components:
*An audiovisual presentation of a reflection or mediation to open up a theme
*A reading from the Scriptures to help focus the search or inquiry
*A Take-Home Reflection for individual, private reflection and writing so the inquirer can explore his or her thoughts.
Seeking Christ - Inquiry: Most sessions last about 90 minutes.
